Scrappy Sunday etc :)

We did have a wonderful Christmas in Wales and Chester with our fabulous family. We arrived back in London yesterday afternoon and I did some sewing today on my new 'spare' sewing machine and she pieces like a dream:

I have missed my sewing - it's been 11 days - definitely was starting to have withdrawal pains!! So as well as making a start on my 'Lippy Quilt' (that's her on the table above), I made 4 more of my 1/2 log cabin scrappy blocks ... all greens today as the green stash is almost catching up with my pile of pinks:

DH also bought me this amazing free standing lamp for the loft / sewing room as the light up there is not good this time of year:

And my dear SIL bought me some delightful fabric for Christmas:

And dear niece got me some Glinda ear rings!

Lots of happy memories to cheer me up as I return to work tomorrow :(

A very thankful (and bit spoiled?!) quilter linking up with Sunday Stash and Karen over at Sew Many Ways:

  5. Is that all fabric neatly stacked behind the new lamp? If so, I'm a teeny bit envious !!

  6. Nice gifts! You sure can't minimize great lighting. I do like your little machine and it's nice to hear that it pieces well. Sorry to hear that you have to head to work tomorrow. :( I'll be thinking of you as you get back into the groove of things.

  7. This is the first time I have seen a lamp on Sunday Stash lol. But seriously, I have daylight spectrum fluorescents in my sewing area and they are indispensable, I agree that good lighting is an essential tool.

  8. Back to work after what looks like a very lovely Christmas. I, too, have missed my sewing room. Look how clean yours is. I left mine in a mess, but will enjoy a big tidy up once I'm home for a few days. Happy New Years eve, eve, eve...lol

  10. I am so glad you got to play with your new machine. I love those freestanding lamps, but they don't work so great with my little boys around. LOL.

  11. That is the exact kind of light I'd love for my sewing room too! Lighting up and down!
